Student Direct Stream Program (SDS Program)

Student Direct Stream (SDS) is a fast track visa process introduced in June 2018 by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). SDS allows students from certain countries to apply and process their visa in less than 20 days. SDS is a consolidated and streamlined program that collaborates any existing study permit application from the listed countries.

Who can apply under SDS Program?

With several benefits like reduced documentation and simplified processing, SDS is one of the popular application choices for many. But only legal residents of the following countries are allowed to apply under the SDS program.

  • China
  • India
  • Philippines
  • Vietnam
  • Morocco
  • Senegal
  • Pakistan

Note – Students with citizenship of the above-listed countries but live in some other country is not eligible for SDS. They are required to apply under the standard study permit process.
